1. Drop one ball into the opening on top.
2. About five seconds later it fires.
3. Your dog brings it back and drops it in. Repeat until someone gets tired, and it will not be the machine.

It stops when someone is in the way

An infrared sensor watches 110 degrees in front of the launcher. If a person or a dog is standing within about 6.5 feet of the barrel, it will not fire. It also powers itself down after 30 minutes without use.

Questions owners ask

Will my dog actually learn to load it?
Most do, and faster than you expect. Start by dropping the ball in yourself while they watch, a few times. Dogs that already return the ball usually make the connection within one session. Some never do, and you load it for them, which is still a lot less work than throwing.

Can I use it indoors?
Yes, on the shortest setting, down a hallway or a long room. The 20 and 30 ft settings need a yard or a park.

Can I use my own tennis balls?
Yes, if they measure 1.88 to 1.96 inches across, which is standard tennis ball size. Wet or chewed-up balls fly shorter and can jam, so keep a dry set for the machine.

Does it work while charging?
No. Charge it, then play. A full charge takes about 4 hours and lasts about 5 hours of use.

How long should a session be?
Fetching is exhausting and many dogs have no idea when to stop. Give yours a break every 15 to 20 minutes and keep water nearby.
